Will your greens take home the TBCGF Festival Favorite prize? Sign up for the highlight of the festival, the 5th Annual Collard Cook-Off! Professional, amateur, or even the occasional cook are encouraged to enter. Best of all, the festival goers decide the winner - Good Luck!
Official Contest Rules
To enter the TBCGF Inc. Collard Green Cook-Off, each contestant must register and pay a $50 registration fee online at: Cook Off Registration. Each contestant must fill out their email address, entry name/ business, mailing address, contact phone number and disclose if the recipe contains ANY of the following: milk, soybeans, peanuts, wheat, eggs, fish, shellfish (crab, crayfish, lobster, or shrimp), or tree nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans). Without the confirmed $50 entry fee (via email), any registration will be considered incomplete and therefore not officially entered.
Cook-Off registration fees are non-refundable and are considered donations to the Tampa Bay Collard Green Festival, regardless if contestant officially entered the contest or not.
The Cook-Off registration link will be disabled at midnight on Friday, February 18, 2022. No further applications for the Cook-Off will be accepted afterwards.
The $50 registration fee is for one contest only (either meat or non-meat categories). An additional $50 fee is required to enter both contests (meat and non-meat).
Contestants must deliver a full-sized (approx. 19.5 x 11.5 x 3.5) aluminum steam pan of non- meat or meat flavored greens with a lid.
Cook-Off entries must be received between 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the large white Galleria of Greens tent located behind Chief’s Creole Restaurant.
Entries must be dropped off fully cooked. Cook-Off volunteers will ensure the appropriate temperature of all entries.
All dishes will be judged openly according to a point system and tabulated electronically in the following areas: COLOR, AROMA, SEASONING, TEXTURE & OVERALL TASTE.
Contest begins promptly at noon and ends at 3 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded in the following areas:
1st Place Festival Favorite: $500 Prize, in both meat and non-meat categories.
